The landscapes of mind by Airi Pung

The majority of my works are based on my own photos and experiences or emotions. They encompass bitterness, pain, worry, but at the same time dreams, beautiful memories and hope. Many of them are characteristically surreal, which has always fascinated me, just like symbolism. For as long as I can remember, I have always loved to draw and paint. At the age of seven, when I began my formal education, I joined a class specializing in art. Art lessons were my favorite throughout my school-life. Upon entering university, I began studying fashion design and continued with this specialty for five years. I took numerous art history, design and composition classes. About 12 years ago I took my first steps into the world of photography. I began using a film camera, at the moment I work with my beloved Nikon D200. A few years ago I decided to familiarize myself in-depth with graphic editing programs because I felt that photographs didn’t always posses the capability to pass on my messages, visions, feelings or thoughts. I am happy with my decision because it opened to me a world, where the joy of discovery will never cease and that is full of excitement and possibilities. My best regards to you all, I hope you enjoy my images as much as I enjoy making them. Just go by the feelingβ¦

Forgotten Fruits

When the Sun goes down

The tree that knew me

Nothing but life

The Lacemaker

Silent tree

Six eggs omlett

Story in the middle of...

Let there be light

Freedom

Survivor

The show must be stopped

Stranger in black

Back to the beginning

Peace and solitude

Let me tell you a story

Maybe it's still not too...
