Valerio Carruba Paintings

You might have thought that it’s all pretty much said and done about surrealism or hyper realism, as some call it, after Salvador Dali, but here comes this painter from Milan, Valerio Carruba who will prove you wrong. He has an unique technique of painting. Some of his works are painted twice; one brushstroke lying on top of the other. This double painting emphasizes the colors and repeats the form in order not to describe them but almost to deny them. There is no one who can look at these images of man cutting himself and displaying his interior organs without feeling anxiety. Valerio Carruba’s work is Absolutely stunning and disturbing. I love it!
